In our latest project, Andy and I are taking on the ambitious task of saving a 1970 C10 that has seen better days. This classic truck, which has been in the hands of a friend since it was new, has been sitting idle since 1979. When we found it, it was stuck in the earth, covered in rust and debris, and needed to be pulled out by another truck.
The Condition of the C10
The C10 was in a state of disrepair, with creatures living both inside and around it. Its engine is locked up, and every single wheel was frozen, making it impossible to roll onto a trailer without some effort. We had to carefully go through each wheel and brake to free the drums, allowing us to move it for the first time in decades.
Despite its condition, we're committed to bringing this truck back to life. We’ll be reaching out to our friends at Golden Star Classic Auto Parts for new panels, as the existing metal is too far gone to salvage. You can check out their offerings here.
